Here goes nothing.
All week I’ve been thinking of clever ways to start off my blog and of course, nada. So, here goes nothing.
Glamour Kills is a blog about beauty. How to take care of you skin, hair, nails, body, you name it. I’m not saying I’m a beauty expert but I do know a thing or two. Not only will I be blogging about beauty and health tips but I will also be posting different hair and makeup styles I’ll be trying out this year. My personal resolution is to push the boundaries with hair and makeup. Who says a girl can’t get all dolled up for no reason? Am I right, or am I right? The hair and makeup styles I’ll be trying out will be inspired by different celebrities I admire or maybe even a friend of mine who’s a little more daring than I am. I might even try something crazy like mimicking a Lady Gaga look!
My first look is inspired by Adele. She is a celebrity that I truly look up to. She is a beautiful person inside and out. Her look is always simple and laid back yet elegant. My look consists of a some-what messy up-do. I teased my hair all over and tamed it by combing it down slightly. Then I took random strands of hair, started twisting, and bobby pinned them to the back of my head (I like to use conair bobbie pins). It almost resembles a french twist but it has an edgier spin to it.

The makeup took me a little longer to do because I wanted to do Adele justice. Her signature look is a natural smokey eye with winged eyeliner so I decided to play off of that. I started with simple foundation (Maybelline- Dream Matte Mouse) and a touch of light blush (Ulta brand) and bronzer (Covergirl) applied to the apples of my cheeks. I also applied a light amount of bronzer to my T-zone (nose, chin, and forehead. I also applied a little right under my eyes to make my freckles stand out.)
Then I moved on to a dark brown eyeshadow (Almay brand had no specific color name, sorry!) and applied it to the crease of my eyelid. Next I used a shimmery white/ivory shadow (Hard Candy- Peace) to cover my eyelids. Then I went over the dark brown with a gold eyeshadow (Covergirl- Golden Sunrise). Next was the eyeliner. I started with black eyeshadow (Loreal- H.I.P.) and an eyeliner brush to create the outline of the “wings.” Not only did I wing my eyeliner up, but It’s slightly winged down as well. Next I traced and filled in the outline with black liquid eyeliner (Covergirl- Lineexact). Then to top off the look I applied a nude lipstick (Covergirl- Lip Perfection in Temptation) and nude shimmer lipgloss (Victoria Secret Beauty Rush in Dazzling Tropics).
And for the grande finale… Mascara! My favorite brand is Maybelline Lash Stiletto voluptuous but use what works for you.

I hope this helps some of you out by giving you a new look to try out this year. Try to spice up your hair and makeup every once and while and you never know who you’ll end up surprising. ;)
